Conference Paper Submission Instruction
(In addition to conference paper submission there is a separate journal track at ICDAR 2026, the details of which can be found in a separate Call for Papers: Call For Journal Track – ICDAR 2026)
ICDAR 2026 will follow a double blind review process. Authors should not include their names, affiliations, or acknowledgements in submitted manuscripts, and should ensure that their identity is not revealed indirectly by citing their earlier work in the third person. Authors will be given the opportunity to respond to reviews in a rebuttal phase.
Authors wishing to submit their manuscript to a pre-publication service (such as, for example arXiv.org) may do so. Likewise, links to GitHub websites for sharing data and code are permitted. Reviewers will be advised not to attempt to determine the identity of authors by searching for that information within online sources such as this.
The authorship of submitted manuscripts is final. No changes to the list of authors will be allowed once a paper has been submitted!
Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science is the Publisher for ICDAR 2026
The ICDAR 2026 proceedings will be published under the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series. Click here for more details.
Papers need to be presented in person at the conference to be included in the published proceedings.
Paper Format and Length
Papers must be formatted according to the instructions and style files provided by Springer LNCS. The LaTeX template for LNCS can be downloaded here. It is also available on Overleaf.
Authors are invited to submit full-length papers describing original work of not more than 17 pages including figures and references. Manuscripts not adhering to the page limit (maximum 17 pages all included), the formatting guidelines (Springer Lecture Notes format) or the anonymization requirements will be rejected without review.
Registration
At least one author of each accepted paper MUST register the paper at full-rate by the early registration deadline (i.e., a student registration will not suffice). Papers without a confirmed registration will be withdrawn by the conference organizers.
Dual Submissions
By submitting a manuscript to ICDAR 2026, authors acknowledge that it has not been previously published or accepted for publication in substantially similar form in any peer-reviewed venue including journals, conferences, or workshops. Furthermore, authors agree that no paper substantially similar in content has been or will be submitted to a journal, or another conference or workshop during the review period. Note that this restriction does not apply to papers issued as unpublished technical reports or included in self-archive repositories (departmental, arXiv.org, etc.) that are not peer-reviewed.
Note: authors who submitted a paper to the IJDAR-ICDAR journal track via the IJDAR website should NOT re-submit the same paper to the ICDAR conference. For questions, please contact the ICDAR 2026 program chairs ([email protected]).
IAPR Ethical Requirements for Authors
By submitting a manuscript to ICDAR 2026, authors agree to adhere the IAPR Statement of Ethics. The IAPR requires that all authors wishing to present a paper declare that:
- The paper is substantially original and that no paper substantially similar in content has been submitted or will be submitted to any other conference or journal during the ICDAR 2026 review period.
- The paper reflects the work of the authors and contains no plagiarism, and
- If accepted, the paper will be presented by one of the authors in person.
The IAPR retains the right to withdraw any paper found in violation of these requirements, and to exclude the authors in question from future IAPR community activities.
The full IAPR Statement of Ethics can be found here.
Author Response Phase Instructions
The author response phase which takes place after the first round of reviews is optional and meant to provide authors with an opportunity to correct factual errors in a review, or to supply additional information as requested by reviewers. It is NOT intended as a way to add new contributions (theorems, algorithms, experiments) or as an opportunity to argue with the opinions of reviewers.
For any question, please contact the Program Chairs: [email protected]
