Call For Workshops

The Workshop Chairs of the 20th International Conference on Document Analysis and Recognition (ICDAR 2026) invite proposals for affiliated workshops that will take place on September 3–4 (tentative), 2026, following the main conference in Vienna, Austria.

  • Workshop Proposal Submission Deadline: December 22, 2025
  • Workshop Approval Notification: February 13, 2025
  • Tentative Workshop Dates: September 3–4, 2026 (post-conference workshops)

Workshop Proposal Details

Interested researchers can submit proposals (PDF or Word, max 4 pages) including:

  • Title of the workshop
  • Preferred duration: half-day or full-day
  • Scope and motivation: concise summary suitable for the website
  • Relevance to ICDAR: how the workshop complements ICDAR and its themes
  • Topics: list of proposed subjects and themes
  • Organizing committee: names, affiliations, contact emails, individual website URL; organizers should come from at least two different institutions
  • Short CVs of organizers (one paragraph each)
  • Submission model: expected formats (papers, short papers, oral & poster presentations, demos); plans for peer review (submission platform, single vs double blind) and whether or not you plan for your proceedings to be included in the main ICDAR workshop proceedings volume
  • Your planned schedule (paper submission deadline, acceptance notification, camera-ready submission, etc.) – these should align with the ICDAR 2026 schedule
    Note: the latest date you can advertise as YOUR camera-ready due date is 3 July 2025
  • Audience & outreach plan – why do you think your workshop will attract an adequate audience of papers and attendees?

Organizer Expectations & Logistics

Workshop organizers should establish and maintain a dedicated website, set up the submission platform, manage submission and review, invite speakers, and oversee the program.

  • Individual Workshop websites should be launched by March 1, 2025
  • Applications for IAPR Endorsement (optional) should be completed ASAP after website launch.

ICDAR 2026 will provide logistical support, including room space, projector/screen, coffee breaks, and registration handling.

All accepted workshop papers must be registered and presented in person at ICDAR. One full (non-student) registration per paper is required for inclusion in proceedings.

Workshop Proceedings

  • Workshop proceedings, if desired, can be included in Springer’s Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) series, coordinated by the main conference organizers.
    The latest date you can advertise as YOUR camera-ready due date is 3 July 2025.
